Heather Lore is a native Houstonian who moved from Texas to Virginia in 1999 where she resides with her husband and two children. Their home resembles a small, chaotic zoo which is overseen in part by a gregarious three-year-old Belgian Shepherd named Whisper who is in turn kept in line by a geriatric tabby cat named Nay-Nay.

Two of Heather’s poems have been published in Rattle Magazine. Heather studied creative writing under Stellasue Lee, the editor of the magazine. She also worked at the now defunct Houston Post newspaper under the book editor and wrote for the Houston Chronicle’s weekly section. She holds a BA in Journalism from The University of Houston.
